"This summer when my Fiancée and I decided to start looking for our first home, we had absolutely no idea who to choose for our realtor. Neither of us grew up in the Capital Region. After doing extensive research and reading many reviews, we came across Diane Sluus, and the reviews on Zillow almost sounded too good to be true to me…but they weren’t. I contacted Diane, and was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The reviews I read were spot-on and I’m thankful because Diane made our home buying experience an absolute pleasure.
We started working with Diane on the purchase of our first home around July 4, 2013. Being first-time home buyers, we had many questions and didn’t exactly know how the process worked, but Diane always seemed to have the answers and provided us the guidance that we needed. As all of her other client reviews state…Diane is not a pushy sales person…she is all about guiding you through the process. She’s a true real estate professional.
From the very beginning Diane was very friendly, courteous, thoughtful and easy to talk with. She listened to what our needs and wants were, even as they evolved throughout the process. I can still remember the first night meeting Diane. She showed us two houses. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Diane was definitely there to work for us and make sure we found exactly what we were looking for. As we walked through the first house…after knowing us for five minutes, she was quick to point things out, whether they were good or bad. These were things that a first time homebuyer probably wouldn’t be looking for as they walked through the door, but for a person that’s probably walked through thousands of homes, they were things she noticed and wanted to make sure we were aware of. She made us feel comfortable that we had an advocate in our corner to guide us through this new experience. She clearly wasn’t just looking for a commission check, but rather was trying to make sure we found “Our Home.”
There were many times when we’d meet Diane to look at a few houses and I would walk in and immediately know that it was not happening. Whenever I tried to apologize to Diane for wasting her time…she always assured us that nothing is ever a waste of time. Though I felt bad…she was right…each time we walked through another house…we were all learning and zeroing in on what exactly our needs and must-haves were. I can’t overemphasize her patience. If there is one thing I hate…it’s being rushed or pushed to make a decision. Diane is the complete opposite of pushy.
Diane definitely showed us a lot of houses that met most of needs but just didn’t feel like “Home.” I admitted to her that I was slightly OCD and sometimes difficult to please, and warned her that I had worked in the home construction business previously so I was particular about many things, but she didn’t seem to mind the challenge. When we crossed houses off the list, Diane would immediately help us find others.
Once we did finally find “Our Home” and began the process of putting in an offer and closing, Diane was there every step of the way answering my many questions and working closely with the bank, our inspector, our attorney and the Seller’s agent to make the purchase as smooth as possible. Diane was great to work with and both my Fiancée and I enjoyed getting to know her and having her help us in our journey to find our first home.
We are very excited to be getting married soon and getting settled into our new home. Should I ever have the need sell our house or purchase another house, there is no doubt in my mind, that Diane will be my realtor. I’d honestly recommend her to anybody that is considering buying or seller a home in the Capital Region. She’s absolutely fabulous to work with and I’m so happy that our paths crossed.

"My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Diane over the past year. She was the consummate professional and advocate for us. We ran across many situations where other agents and sellers where less than forthcoming. Diane steered the course and always remained loyal to us. Her follow up, listening skills and jealous advocacy for her us made her the best agent we ever worked with.
My wife and I have worked with many agents over the past 10 years. I have never written a recommendation for any of them. I am proud to recommend Diane and will use and recommend her many times over. All the best to Diane and we wish her the best of success in her career.

"Diane was a fantastic agent to work with. My husband and I were looking to buy our first home, so we didn’t know too much about the process. Diane was very patient with us and explained everything along the way and was happy to answer any questions we had. She was very quick to respond to any emails or calls regardless of the day and time, even on the weekends. She always showed us houses inside of our budget and within our requested school districts which was nice. Also, she always gave an honest opinion of the property and the value but only when asked allowing us to also make the evaluation ourselves. I would highly recommend Diane to anyone looking to buy in the capital district, she really made the home buying process smooth, fun and efficient. We found such a great house we never plan on leaving, but if we do we would contact Diane immediately.

"We happened to meet Diane through Zillow when she helped us tour a house nearby. From the get-go, she was an exceptional realtor - friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about different construction methods and house features, and thorough. We ended up touring houses with Diane for the next year or so, checking out different locations and dealing with a shifting housing market. During that time, we made a few offers on properties and occasionally had to take a break from the search when life got hectic. We never, ever felt pressured to rush into a house we weren’t happy with, nor did Diane suggest houses that were outside of our budget - both things we had experienced with a different realtor. One of the things I’ve liked most about having Diane as our Realtor is her attention to detail - whenever we had a question about a house (What does this cable do? Is there a monthly fee for that water filtration system?) she was on the ball about it, taking notes/pictures and getting the answers to us ASAP. She was always easy to reach via email or text, and worked with us at sometimes crazy hours of the night to make sure our offer was on time. We seriously couldn’t recommend her enough!"

"Diane helped us buy a townhome in Round Lake, NY. She was exceptional from the word go and helped us with the right contacts from start to finish. She got back to our texts/emails so quickly and was always available for a phone call if needed. She did a great job asking the right questions to the builder and again during the final walkthrough where her attention to detail helped us in making sure all the minor issues were fixed. I would highly recommend Diane and it was an absolute pleasure working with her."

"We are first time home buyers and Diane was highly recommended to us by our bank. We could not have been happier working with her. Diane initially sat with us, explained the process, expectations and time lines. Diane helped recommend all services needed to secure our home. Every meeting made us feel more comfortable and we settled on our new home within 10 days! Diane has the contacts and a wealth of knowledge that makes a buyer feel at ease with the biggest of purchases. Thanks Diane!"

"Diane has been top notch. She has always given her all and I can say that she is a dedicated, hard worker. I have used her for many home sales and even some rentals. She is honest and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her!"

"Working with Diane to sell my mother’s home was a great experience. She is very knowledgeable, personable, honest, reliable and supportive. She was constantly on top of details and making sure I understood the process and what to expect. Diane always went the extra mile by returning phone calls/emails/texts promptly. She always answered my questions clearly and fully. It was like getting a mini-education. Often she anticipated potential issues and had a solution at the ready. I found her guidance invaluable throughout the entire process. Thanks Diane!"

"Diane helped us find the right house for us. Then, she listed and sold our existing house. She has an incredible amount of patience! She led us through the process, always protecting our interest. Diane has a positive attitude, is knowledgeable and has a great list of referrals for lenders, attorneys, inspectors and contractors. We benefitted from her years of experience. We can’t thank her enough for everything she did for us!"

"My husband and I first met Diane Sluus a few years ago when she was representing the seller of a home we wanted to purchase. She made the sale happen for her clients and was also helpful and courteous to us during the process. We were so impressed with her professionalism and expertise that we turned to her first when it was time to search for a house for members of our family. Diane LISTENS to your opinions and goals, APPLIES her connections and long experience, ADVISES at every stage, and KNOWS the real estate business inside and out. She is patient and always well prepared. We closed on our family’s new home last week and can not say enough about Diane’s role in the whole process. Now THAT’S A REALTOR!"

"We are first-time homebuyers so our knowledge of the process was limited. We started out by attending many open houses to no avail. We met Diane while viewing one of her listings, and although that house was not a good fit for us, it did lead us to a wonderful working relationship with Diane. She was very patient, understanding, and cooperative. She responded to all our inquiries in a timely manner. She showed us so many houses we sort of lost count, but we settled on about 15 showings through the dead of winter. She never pressured us at showings and was forthright with details of the house that may have proven to be problematic at the present or in the future. For Diane it’s not just about a sale, it’s about finding the right fit no matter how long it takes. The house we finally settled on was listed with Keller Williams through another agent, but Diane worked with us and the other agent to negotiate terms that allowed us to be homeowners. She educated us on all the multiple components of the home buying process which let us walk into our closing with some degree of confidence as newbies. Through her experience in the field, Diane was also able to recommend a great home inspector. From start to finish she was there to light the way and make this scary, but exciting dream of homeownership a reality. We are forever grateful!"
